The short version: Cast doesn't collect any data and makes no network calls. Every tool runs entirely on your Mac. Nothing is sent anywhere, ever.
What Cast does
Cast is a native macOS app bundling eight developer utilities — a JSON formatter, JWT decoder, Base64 encoder/decoder, regex tester, unit converter, hash generator, URL encoder/decoder, and a Pomodoro timer. Every tool transforms data you paste, type, or drop directly into the app, entirely on your device.
What Cast collects
Nothing. Cast does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data about you or your device. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, and no network request of any kind made by the app — it is sandboxed and has no network entitlement at all.
What Cast stores locally
Cast saves one preference on your Mac using Apple's standard UserDefaults system, so it persists between launches:
- Your chosen light/dark appearance override
This information never leaves your device. It is not backed up to iCloud, not synced anywhere, and not accessible to anyone but you. The Pomodoro session counter is kept only in memory and resets each time you relaunch the app.
Files and clipboard
When you drop a file onto Hash Generator, Cast reads that file locally to compute its hash and never stores or transmits its contents. Copy buttons write only to your local clipboard.
Accounts and sign-in
Cast has no accounts, no sign-in, and no user profile of any kind.
Third parties
Cast does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics providers.
Children's privacy
Cast does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone.
