The short version: Vivico Contrast doesn't collect any data and makes no network calls. Every calculation runs entirely on your Mac. Nothing is sent anywhere, ever.
What Vivico Contrast does
Vivico Contrast is a native macOS menu bar app that checks WCAG color contrast between two colors you choose — by hex input, RGB sliders, or the built-in screen eyedropper — and shows pass/fail badges for every WCAG 2.1 level, plus color blindness simulation.
What Vivico Contrast collects
Nothing. Vivico Contrast does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data about you or your device. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, and no network request of any kind made by the app — it is sandboxed and has no network entitlement at all.
What Vivico Contrast stores locally
Vivico Contrast saves the following on your Mac using Apple's standard UserDefaults system, so it persists between launches:
- Saved color pairs (name, foreground hex, background hex), up to 20
- Your default foreground and background colors
- Your preference toggles (ratio bar visibility, color blindness section default, launch at login)
This information never leaves your device. It is not backed up to iCloud, not synced anywhere, and not accessible to anyone but you.
The screen eyedropper
The eyedropper uses Apple's native NSColorSampler to read a single pixel color from anywhere on your screen. Vivico Contrast uses that color locally to populate the foreground or background field — it is never transmitted, logged, or stored anywhere beyond the color value itself.
Accounts and sign-in
Vivico Contrast has no accounts, no sign-in, and no user profile of any kind.
Third parties
Vivico Contrast does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics providers.
Children's privacy
Vivico Contrast does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "last updated" date.
