Why do my network numbers look higher than I'd expect?
Corely's network reading combines throughput across all active interfaces (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, VPN). If more than one is active at the same time, the same traffic can be counted more than once, which can make totals look inflated. This is a known tradeoff of reading interface-level counters rather than per-app traffic.
Why does GPU show "Not available"?
Corely reads GPU utilization through an Apple Silicon-specific API. On Intel Macs, or in rare cases where the system doesn't expose this value, Corely shows "Not available" instead of guessing.
I don't see the menu bar icon.
On MacBooks with a notch, macOS sometimes hides menu bar icons behind the overflow chevron (»). Click the chevron, or Cmd-drag icons in your menu bar to make room.
How do I change what shows in the menu bar?
Click the Corely icon, then "Preferences…". You can choose CPU, Memory, Network, or an icon-only display, along with the refresh interval and launch-at-login.
Does Corely slow down my Mac?
Corely samples metrics on a low-priority background queue at whatever interval you set (1, 2, or 5 seconds) and does no work in between. It's built to be lightweight enough to run all day without noticeable impact.
